JAKOBINE
 MOTZ
 was
 born
 1967
 in
 Königs
 Wusterhausen,
 former
 GDR.
 From
 1988
 to
 1994
 she
 studied
cinematography 
at 
the 
University 
of 
Film
 and
 Television 
Potsdam‐Babelsberg. 
In
 1994
 she
 received
 a
 scholarship
 from
 DAAD
 and
 spent
 one
 year
 in
 Ghana.
 In
 1996
 Jakobine
 moved
 to
 Los
 Angeles
 and
 took
 on
 her
 postgraduate
 studies
 at
 the
 American
 Film
 Institute.
 Two
 years
 later,
 she
 graduated
 with
 a
 Master
 of
 Fine
 Arts
 from
 AFI.
 The
 same
 year,
 she
 returned
 to
 the
 University
 of
 Film
 and
 Television
 Potsdam‐Babelsberg,
 this
 time
 as
 lecturer
 for
 photography
 and
 assistant
 professor
 for
 cinematography
 until
 2003.
 Since
 then,
 she
 has
 been
 working
 as 
freelancing 
DoP 
and
 lecturer.
 Jakobine 
currently
 lives
 in 
Berlin.
