Katja Hahn was born in Dresden, former GDR, in 1970. In 1989 Katja started German and English language studies at the Humboldt-Universität Berlin and wanted to become a teacher. She changed her mind and switched to Theatre Arts at the Friedrich-Alexander Universität in Erlangen in 1991. From 1991 to 1993 she worked parallely as a freelance camera assistant. In 1993 Katja studied at the srt nürnberg and obtained a degree as assistant engineer for media technology in 1995. Between 1995 and 1997 she successfully completed a traineeship in editing at the German public broadcast Bayerischer Rundunk/ARD. Between 1999 and 2008 Katja worked as a freelance editor on various television and cinema projects. Since 2008 she is full time editor at the Bayerischer Rundfunk/ARD, currently living in Munich.
